Choose by use, not just color
Find the right material for the job.
Tell us the environment, loads, flexibility and appearance your part needs. We’ll review the specific material grade and printing approach as part of the quote.
A starting point for material selection
| Material | Common starting point | What to discuss |
|---|---|---|
| PLA | Visual models and concept prototypes | Heat exposure and load requirements |
| PETG | General-purpose parts | Fit, finish and operating environment |
| ABS | Functional enclosures and parts | Warping, dimensions and finish |
| Nylon | Wear-resistant and tougher applications | Moisture, grade and dimensional needs |
| TPU / flexible | Parts that need to bend | Hardness, wall thickness and flexibility |
| PVA | Water-soluble support material | Support compatibility; not a general final-part choice |
Four details that make material advice useful
Environment
Describe heat, sunlight, moisture or chemical exposure. Include actual operating requirements where known.
Mechanical use
Explain whether the part carries a load, flexes, clips together or rubs against another surface.
Appearance
Tell us which surfaces are visible, your color preference and whether you need finishing.
Fit & dimensions
Mark critical holes, interfaces and tolerances. A general material name does not guarantee a particular fit.
Let’s make the next step clear
Bring your file, sketch or idea.
Tell us what the part needs to do. We’ll help define the right printing, modeling or scanning approach.
